Tony Hankerson is the Director of Corporate Safety at the David J. Joseph Company. He directs and leads the environmental, safety, and health (EHS) program to assure compliance with federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations. Hankerson reviews and interprets impact of all OSHA and EPA rules, regulations, amendments, and advisories on the organization’s goals. He issues guidelines and directives to staff on a regular basis and ensures guidelines and rules are properly followed. Hankerson uses leading safety indicators during the accident investigation phases to eliminate or mitigate reoccurrences when they will have the least cost and operational impact on production. Prior to the David J. Joseph Company, he served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He also worked as the safety manager at Metal Recycling Services, LLC.
